Named after the year President Ho Chi Minh first visited Tuan Chau Island, 1958 Restaurant is located just a few doors down from the Paradise Suites Hotel, in the heart of Tuan Chau Island.
With its warm and inviting atmosphere, authentic northern Vietnamese cuisine, and signature seafood dishes, it's no wonder 1958 is one of the most popular restaurants on Tuan Chau Island.

OUR FOOD

There’s a lot more than Pho to try in Vietnam. Here in Halong we got hundreds of local recipes using our diverse offer of seafood, freshly caught every day (or night!) and brought to your plate. With that in mind, our executive chef has thoroughly selected the most special dishes for you to taste, and discover the true taste of Halong. Besides those exquisite Halong selections, we have also a few Vietnamese classics to make sure no desire is left unfulfilled.

All our ingredients are carefully sourced to ensure the highest possible quality, supplied daily from local markets and taking advantage of each season’s specialties.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Vietnam cuisine is definitely one of the main reasons to visit. The multitude of flavours and textures found in every dish is comparable to no other. But this is not what we are doing in 1958.

While many places pride themselves in showcasing authentic Vietnamese cuisine, we strive in offering a much more local alternative: Flavours of Halong. Vietnam offers too much variety for a single restaurant, and in here we focus on what is really local, and into showing to the world the best of Halong’s gastronomy.

COOKING CLASS

For those seeking the ultimate immersion in Halong’s cuisine, we offer a
unique cooking class – following by a tasting meal of all that was prepared!

Here you will learn how to select the best ingredients from the market, clean
and prepare the raw materials, and delight your friends back home with some
exotic Vietnamese specialties!

Class Options
Cooking class & market visit: 4h session from 9am to 1pm.

Cooking class only: 2h30 session from 9:30am to 12pm.

Price List
1 or 2 guests: USD 100,00 total
Groups from 3 to 5 guests: USD 45,00 per person
Groups from 6 to 10 guests: USD 40,00
Groups of 11 guests or above: please contact us directly for a custom package!
